Dear Parents and Guardians,
The terroristic threatening letter is going home to all students today. Please be sure to read over this and review it with your child. Any threat, even if implied, directly towards the school or students and staff within will be dealt with to the highest ability of the school and investigated by law enforcement. This includes social media post that could be considered a threat. Thank you for your help in addressing this very important topic as we strive to keep our school, staff and students safe.
Sincerely,
Lauren Burnett

Dear LCMS Students and Families,
As the new principal of Lincoln County Middle School, I am so excited to be a part of the rich tradition of Lincoln County Schools. As your leader, it is not lost on me what an important role we serve in the lives of these amazing students. Our utmost goal is to create a school culture where students feel safe and loved so that they may thrive. After all, it is our job to prepare them to be the best citizens they can be. Our mantra this year and for years to come is, “In all we do we will RISE“. Whatever the task may be, our focus will remain on just that, rising. We want our students to not only develop their skills in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science, but also in the arts, athletics, and everything in between.
In preparation for this year our teachers have worked very hard to prepare a curriculum that is aligned to state standards, created as a team, and is rigorous and engaging. Lessons have been built to include high yield strategies that incorporate best practice resources. Not only has the curriculum been overhauled, but our behavior plans as well. Developed by surveying and collaborating with stakeholders, a solid discipline plan has been created. By having a clear set of expectations with consequences and/or incentives aligned, we set students up for success. All of this and more has been outlined in the 22-23 LCMS student handbook which all families will receive a copy of.
School begins in just a few days, and we can’t wait to watch our students RISE! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me via email or by calling the school. Thank you again for this opportunity to serve this great community and school.
Sincerely,
Lauren Burnett
