In Kentucky, each school has a governing site-based council comprised of the principal, three elected teachers, and two elected parents who analyze and create the policies and procedures that govern daily school operations.
Because of recent changes, we have an opening for a parent representative on the Lincoln County Middle School SBDM. The parent members of the council are elected by the legal guardians of students, receive subsequent training, and serve one year terms. Any adult who is the legal guardian of a LCMS student is eligible to serve, and all parents are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and actively engage in school functions and activities.
SBDM Parent Criteria required to be an SBDM parent member:
--My child will attend LCMS during 2021-22 and registered.
--I am my child's parent, step-parent, or foster parent (or I am the child's legal guardian and the child lived with me).
--I am not an employee of LCMS.
--I do not work at the Lincoln County Student Support Center.
--I am not the husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt or uncle of any employee of LCMS.
--I am not a member of the local board of education, and neither is my spouse.
