A Note from Principal Burnett:
I can’t believe we are moving into our last nine weeks of the year already! What an exciting year it has been so far. We began the year knowing we had a lot to overcome and WOW, have we seen the growth! It is amazing to see what teachers and students can do when they are empowered and encouraged. We aren’t where we need to be (Rome wasn’t built in a day) but we sure are moving in the right direction. Lincoln County MIddle School is posed and ready for greatness which can be attributed to:
Teacher created, standards based curriculum, stepping away from Summit Learning
Co-teaching models to meet the individual needs of students
Implementing best practice strategies for engagement and instruction
Empowering staff through leadership training opportunities
Partnerships with the Southern Region Educational Board (SREB) and ThinkCerca
Positive leadership support through Dr. Chris Murray (Director of Secondary Schools) and Dennis Davis (District Consultant)
Teachers who LOVE Lincoln County and our students
An addition of a Dean of Students for behavior and discipline management
Support staff that go above and beyond
Intervention staff to help bridge the gaps for students
The list could truly go on and on. We are at a pivotal point as a district and I can’t wait to see the continuation of these new initiatives that are proof of our students' potential.
Together We Serve,
Lauren Burnett
