Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) held a ribbon cutting ceremony today at LCHS. Huge thanks to all who attended and showed support for this important new opportunity for our students.
JAG Kentucky is a program dedicated to helping students succeed in high school and beyond.

There will be a Title IX Gender Equity Review Committee Meeting on Monday, November 21st, at 2 pm at the Lincoln County High School Auditorium. There will be a public comment session from 3:00-3:30 pm. This is a standard meeting conducted by the KHSAA for all schools.
The new welding lab at the Lincoln County High School Technology Center is nearing completion (95% complete). Students are enrolled in classes now and will be able to use the brand new lab and equipment this semester.
Three different types of welding are being taught to students; Stick, MIG and TIG. The lab is also equipped with a plasma cutter and a 56 ton punch press and brake. Students will have the ability to weld with or without gas in the new lab also.
The LCHS Counseling Team and English Department hosted a college and careers presentation with Michele Faught of Sullivan University today.
The presentation was given in 5 sessions to a total of 182 senior students at the high school.

Update to the Stanford Police Department investigation and school lockdown from yesterday (October 20th):
“In response to yesterday‘s events, we have increased patrol and security at the schools. We have received the screenshots from social media that have been making their rounds and are working to identify the sources. This case remains at the forefront and is still being actively investigated,” said Stanford Police Chief Zach Middleton.
Extra law enforcement will be present all day today patrolling the schools/campuses. The safety of our staff and students is paramount.

The 37th Annual Lincoln County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program will be September 25th at 6:30 pm at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium on the campus of Lincoln County High School. Tickets are $10 and you may preorder by calling 606-365-9782.

•We are now registering incoming kindergartners for K-Camp 2021. It will be August 11th at each elementary school. Transportation, lunch and a snack will be provided.

Lindsey Phillips was selected as the Lake Cumberland Region State Vice President at the 92nd Kentucky FFA State Convention. She was selected to run as a state officer from our region and then selected as VP from a nominating committee. She will serve for the 2021-22 school year.
LCHS and LCMS students learned about insects, amphibians and reptiles yesterday from Brad Reynolds (The Real Science Program).
He brought Madagascar hissing cockroaches, a tarantula, frogs, and numerous types of snakes with him.

LCHS Parents/Guardians that have ordered but not received your student's school pictures — you may pick them up in the front office of the high school from 9AM-3PM this Thursday, June 10th.
Congratulations to LCHS senior Katie Carmicle Shields for receiving a $1,000 scholarship from Sherman Carter Barnhart at tonight’s Lincoln County Board of Education meeting.
Shields plans to attend Midway College and play basketball after graduation.
