Congratulations to Lincoln County High School Junior Brody Skipper for his acceptance into the Governor’s School for the Arts for Vocal Music! Brody has been a part of the chorus and drama/theatre program at Lincoln since 6th grade. He is in Beta Club, STLP, Mock Trial, plays tennis and is performing in Lincoln County’s upcoming performance of Annie. He will be attending the 3 week program this summer at the University of Kentucky.
GSA auditions and reviews the commonwealth’s most promising high school sophomores and juniors in 9 different art disciplines. It is designed to be an immersive experience where students spend every day exploring artistry, learning about creativity, and building community with fellow artists. While also engaging in hands-on lessons, students will attend workshops, presentations, create and perform, and go on field trips. Students will learn how the arts interact with broader elements of society and how they can use their creativity to better themselves and their communities.
GSA alumni will have access to benefits such as college scholarships and direct contact with college representatives from across the country through the fall college and career day.
