Lincoln County High School kicked off a new student of the month celebration last week sponsored by the LCHS Youth Service Center to spotlight students who reflect the “Portrait of a Patriot” criteria: Collaborator, Communicator, Community Contributor, Continuous Learner, Critical Thinker.
The students celebrated with refreshments and received a certificate and a yard sign designed by the high school marketing class for receiving the award. Each department nominated students from each grade level to receive the award.
“We have amazing students doing great things in and out of the classroom,” said Lincoln County High School Youth Service Center Coordinator Amy Bastin. “We wanted our students to see they are noticed for their hard work and wanted to recognize them for it.”
There will be a different group of students chosen each month. The “Portrait of a Patriot” initiative began this school year at LCHS. The intention is for students to master five graduation competencies (Collaborator, Communicator, Community Contributor, Continuous Learner, Critical Thinker) that will equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in life after high school.
