Lincoln County Schools has named Brad Smith the new Assistant Athletic Director for Lincoln County Schools. Smith will serve as the assistant AD to newly named Athletic Director Brad Petrey. Smith’s primary focus will be on middle school sports and will assist Petrey with high school sports and events too.
Smith will remain in his role as Lincoln County Schools Communications/Public Relations Coordinator along with serving as the assistant AD. He will be stepping away from his coaching position as the Head Coach of Lincoln County Middle School Baseball per the requirements of AD positions.
Superintendent Michael Rowe said, “Brad understands our community and is one of the biggest supporters of Lincoln County Athletics that you’ll find in this county. We feel like he will work well with Mr. Petrey in successfully guiding our athletic programs.”
Brad has been involved with coaching youth and travel sports for the past decade and has spent the past two years as a coach for LCMS baseball. Along with coaching, he is a broadcaster for WPBK-FM, covering Lincoln County athletics and promotes all athletics through his position at the school through social media and other media outlets.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity. Lincoln County sports are a passion of mine and have been a huge part of my life ever since I was old enough to walk. I care about the students, the families and our community. I will do whatever it takes to see LC succeed,” said Smith. “I want to continue to promote our kids, and build good relationships with young kids in the county. They are the future and I think it is important that we invest in the future. My hope is to establish strong feeder programs for all sports and to continue to promote all of the great things we are doing here in Lincoln County.”
Brad and his wife Lee Ann live in Lincoln County along with their three children Jack, Brayden and Rebecca. He is an Elder at Moreland Christian Church and is the Chairman of HOPE 53 Ministries. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, watching and coaching sports and traveling.
Smith will begin his new role as Assistant Athletic Director on July 1st.
