Harvey Franklin

Lincoln County High School agriculture teacher Harvey Franklin was recognized as a regional finalist for the 2024-2025 Golden Owl Award today from Nationwide, the Kentucky Future Farmers of America Foundation and the Kentucky Association of Agricultural Educators. 


This annual award recognizes Kentucky ag educators for their tremendous contributions in preparing the next generation of young people for successful careers in agriculture. There were 322 nominations for the award for 88 Kentucky agriculture teachers. 


Mr. Franklin was presented with an engraved plaque and a $500 check for his outstanding commitment to agriculture and is now in the running for the Golden Owl grand prize. The Kentucky winner will be announced on June 11th, 2025.


📸: Mr. Franklin was joined by former student Ross Young today for his award acceptance. Mr. Young was a student of Mr. Franklin’s in 1983. He drove all the way from North Carolina to celebrate the achievement with Mr. Franklin.
