The 2025-26 and 2026-27 school calendars were approved at last night’s board meeting. Below are the key details for each calendar:
🗓️ 2025-26 School Calendar (Variable Calendar)
•Features 8 fewer instructional days and 8 additional staff workdays to allow teachers to focus on curriculum planning, learning targets, and common assessments before the school year begins.
•Exceeds the required 1,062 instructional hours despite fewer instructional days.
•The first student day will be August 25, 2025, following state guidelines for variable calendars.
•Provides added flexibility for scheduling, including the ability to use banked time for snow days.
🗓️ 2026-27 School Calendar
•Closely resembles the current 2024-25 calendar.
Includes 170 instructional days and the following holidays:
September 7 – Labor Day
November 26 – Thanksgiving
December 25 – Christmas
January 18 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
•Professional Development Days (Flexible PD Days):
•August 7, November 2, November 25, and February 15.
•Opening Day for students: August 12th, 2026
•Closing Day: May 20th, 2027
•Staff Work Days: August 6, August 10, September 18, January 4, and March 12.
