KDE Accountability & Assessment Data

The Kentucky Department of Education has released its annual assessment and accountability data for the 2023-24 school year. We are excited to announce Waynesburg Elementary School has achieved a Blue rating. A Blue rating is the highest rating possible for a school per the rating scale developed by the Kentucky Department of Education. Hustonville Elementary maintained its Green rating which is the second highest rating possible. Crab Orchard Elementary, Highland Elementary, and Lincoln County High School all maintained their Yellow Rating while improving in several areas. Stanford Elementary School and Lincoln County Middle School received an Orange Rating.

The Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) data provides annual information on accountability at the school, district and state levels. The accountability system gives a comprehensive view using six core indicators:

  • State Assessment Results in Reading and Mathematics

  • State Assessment Results in Science, Social Studies, and Writing

  • English Learner Progress (not applicable for Lincoln County)

  • Quality of School Climate and Safety

  • Postsecondary Readiness (High School only)

  • Graduation Rate (High School only)

To simplify communication of performance levels, the Kentucky Department of Education developed an overall performance color rating scale, ranging from Red (lowest) to Blue (highest). Lincoln County Schools showed overall growth.
