At last night’s Lincoln County Board of Education meeting the board voted to appoint Tyler McGuffey to the vacant District 1 board seat.
Tyler and his wife Kelsey are residents of the Hustonville area along with their three children. He is a 2011 graduate of Lincoln County High School. After high school he received degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and Campbellsville University. He is now a special education teacher at John W. Bate Middle School.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people of Lincoln County,” said McGuffey. “I will work tirelessly to be an accessible and reasonable voice for our school board. It is a special honor to serve Hustonville and Moreland, as I have called this community home my entire life. The opportunity to serve in this capacity means a great deal to me.”
McGuffey will fill the vacancy until the November general election. The winner of the November election will fulfill the remaining two years of the District 1 vacancy.
