Lincoln County Middle School is pleased to announce Mrs. Jonie Douglas as the new assistant principal at the middle school. Assistant Principal Douglas will fill the spot left vacant by Tim Wheeler who recently accepted the principal job at Waynesburg Elementary School.
Jonie is a 1995 graduate of Lincoln County High School and a former Hustonville Tiger. After high school she attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelors in Secondary Education and a Masters of Science in Instructional Systems Design. She later received a Masters of Arts in Instructional Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.
She has 25 years of experience in education. She has spent her career serving at Burgin Independent, Casey County and Danville Independent. Assistant Principal Douglas has a strong record of leadership with curriculum and instruction at the school, district and state levels. “I am honored to finally return to my home district, and am excited about the opportunity to do my part to help our students RISE at LCMS,” said Douglas.
LCMS Principal Lauren Burnett said, “We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Douglas to the LCMS family. Her vast experience with middle school students of all abilities, her curriculum and instruction work with teachers and her insights into co-teaching made her an ideal candidate. She will be a great fit here for our staff and students.”
Mrs. Douglas is expected to begin her new role at LCMS next month.
