This feature highlights Lincoln County graduates and talks about what they are doing in life now.
With basketball season just around the corner, this month’s spotlighted alumni is Jacob Conway. Conway is a 2015 graduate of Lincoln County High School where he is the school’s all time leading scorer in boys basketball (2,097 points). He grew up in Lincoln County attending Hustonville Elementary School and also Lincoln County Middle School.
After graduating from LCHS, Jacob attended Georgetown College where he had a decorated basketball career for the Tigers. Conway was a member of the 2019 NAIA National Championship team, an NAIA All-American (honorable mention), member of the All Mid-South Conference Team and finished his career there with 1,121 points.
Conway began his professional career in 2020 when he signed with One Motive Sports Agency and started playing overseas with the Derby Trailblazers in England (NBLI). He has spent the past two seasons in France playing for US Laval where he averaged 14 points per game last year.
His favorite memories from his days at LCHS are playing basketball with his teammates, which included six other seniors. “Growing up playing with those guys created lifelong friendships and memories,” said Conway. Jacob added that his favorite memories of basketball so far in life are winning the national championship and inking his first professional contract.
When asked about what teacher had the biggest impact on him, he said Coach Jeff Jackson. “He was more than just a coach to me, he was also a mentor who helped me become a better person on and off the basketball court.”
We are very proud of Jacob, and all of his achievements in life! We look forward to following his career on the hardwood!
