The Lincoln County Board of Education accepted a bid at last week’s board meeting to repair and renovate the bubble corridor at Lincoln County High School.
The renovation will enclose the area with a brick exterior where the bubble is now located and will provide windows on the exterior and interior that will provide lighting to the cafeteria that is adjacent to the area. It will also make the school more effecient and safer for staff and students from a functionality standpoint.
“Over time the bubble has become very inefficient, with HVAC and water (leak) issues,” said Darren Yaden, Lincoln County Schools Chief Operations Officer. “This will be a great solution because it will liven up the cafeteria and blend well with the existing structure too.”
The project is expected to begin soon and is scheduled to be completed this school year.
